Midfielder Morgan Hackworth is a multiyear veteran of USL Championship play, having spent four seasons with SD Loyal of San Diego and a year with Memphis 901 FC. Hackworth, who grew up in the Philadelphia area, began his college career at Syracuse, where he played for two seasons before transferring to the University of Akron. As a Zip, Hackworth played in 20 games and started in 17. During his senior season in 2018, he ranked third on the team in assists (5) – 10th in the Mid Atlantic Conference – and fourth in goals (4). That year, the Zips advanced through the NCAA Tournament to reach the finals of the College Cup, and Hackworth notched two assists in tournament play. That season, Hackworth was named Academic All-MAC selection, CoSIDA Academic All-America nominee, and an Academic All-Ohio honoree.
Hackworth, 26, is the son of former soccer player John Hackworth, now an assistant coach and director of coaching with St. Louis City SC of MLS.
